Confident end-of-semester works by my first-semester animation students, some animating for the first time. 2d animation explores the emotive power of elastic motion, our tender bodies meeting a hard-edged world. I am really moved by the exuberance of these works, searching and experimental conversations with narrative genre, with their anxieties about the state of our world, with our universal need to find attachment and belonging. Be warned that the final animation deals with issues related to mental health and self harm.
